Annual report for the C&A Foundation, showcasing how ‘fashion is a force for good’ 🌟

This was the first time the foundation had opted for a digital report, which gave us a lot more scope to be creative. Always a win!

I was responsible for the report copy, from short introduction pieces to hard hitting editorials, fact finding and checking, to conducting and writing interviews. Working closely with the design team, we came up with ways to make technical information visually stimulating and memorable.

It was important to me to collaborate with people at different levels from all over the organisation; from the Executive Director of the foundation in the UK, to workers in smallholder farms in India, Coordinators in Brazil to factory workers in Tamil Nadu; and tell their stories with them, not for them.

This ensured that the rights, dignity, and feelings of everyone involved were respected and upheld at all times, whilst giving in-depth looks at how the individual actions of each person impacted the wider organisation.

Because the focus of the report was on fashion being a force for good, it meant first leaning into why the fashion industry hasn’t always been something positive in terms of its supply chains. Forced labour, child labour, sustainability issues. All of these are what C&A Foundation were trying to combat. The report was a success, challenging areas that still needed work, whilst fostering empathy and dignity for the work they had undertaken and still proposed to take in future.
